There are many systems available to help increase your workplace productivity and improve your organizational skills. Below are three simple ideas you can use every day. They will help you work more efficiently and produce better results.

Have a Filing System – Any system will do, as long as you use it. One of the best and easiest filing systems is an alphabetical one. Include with it a master list of all your files to tell you what’s in each file and where you put it. Having an efficient filing system, both at work and at home, means you won’t waste your valuable time searching for misplaced items.

Use Your Internal Prime Time – We all have an optimal time, during a 24-hour period, when we are at our most productive and creative.  For most people, it’s in the morning but, for some, they are most alert and efficient at other times of day or night. Find your prime time and, whenever possible, schedule your most important meetings, projects and creative work during that time. You’ll get your most challenging work done when you’re at your sharpest and most innovative.

Travel and Work – Travel, especially air travel, gives us a chance to experience uninterrupted time. Learn to use this time wisely. A study conducted some years ago found that one hour of uninterrupted time on an airplane was equivalent, productivity-wise, to three hours of work in an office environment. If you plan ahead and organize your tasks before you leave, you will accomplish more while in the air.

Use these simple tips to give your productivity a boost all while remaining calm, clear and more creative.
