We have all been there – we think we nailed that job interview and then you find out you were not offered the position. A million things run through our minds at this point and the main one probably being what do I do now?

1) Deal with the emotions you have. You did not get something you wanted so badly and you are allowed to feel something. Sadness, anger, disappointment whatever it may be, it is okay.

2) Look back and take notes. You thought it went perfect but now looking back was there anything that maybe you could have said differently or not said at all? Take a look back and see what may have went wrong.

3) Ask for some feedback from the people who interviewed you. This is a huge step! Nobody likes to hear how they messed something up but this information could be the difference from getting that next job or not. Learn from your mistakes, always!

4) Continue the search for other jobs. It is hard to move on, especially if you were denied your dream job. But the world keeps moving and so should you! Take the feedback from the interview and use it! Fix your resume, tweak your cover letter and have confidence. You can do this!

5) Another really good option, especially if you are more entry level is to intern. It is a great way to build your skill set and get your name out there!

6) Look on the bright side. When you do end up with the job you have always wanted you will look back at this lull of time as something that only better shaped who you are. You learned things, you improved yourself and you landed the job. Congrats, now go celebrate!
