Why is it that some of us are able to achieve more during the day, while others are busy but not nearly as productive? Good time management skills are the answer.

Productive people manage their time well, even under tight deadlines and high pressure. They prioritize their work, plan their day, and focus on the task at hand. By staying focused on the work in front of them, and not becoming distracted by incoming emails, texts, and other interruptions, high achievers get better results in less time. Studies have shown that when we switch our attention between two or more tasks, no task is done well.

Taking the time to learn and practice good time management skills provides solid benefits. Among them:

-greater productivity and efficiency
-less stress
-better professional reputation
-greater chance of achieving career and life goals

Ineffective time management can lead to:

-missed deadlines
-poor work quality
-poor professional reputation
-higher stress

Being busy isn’t the same as being productive. Solid time management skills provide lifelong benefits, both professionally and personally.
